APOSTLE HAYFORD ALILE HUMANITARIAN AWARD
Awarded to an individual who significantly contributes to alleviating human suffering and
improving quality of life, both in Nigeria and abroad.
Nominees:
Folakemi Adesina (Nigeria)
Folakemi Adesina’s Do Good Charity Initiative focuses on improving the lives of vulnerable
children and communities through education, infrastructure, and hygiene education. The
Initiative has renovated classrooms, refurbished toilet facilities, and provided furniture to
schools in Lagos, significantly enhancing education and living conditions in underserved areas.
Vallent Rachel Adhiambo (Kenya)
Since founding the Geno Epilepsy Center for Empowerment, Vallent Rachel Adhiambo has
supported individuals with epilepsy through awareness campaigns, empowerment
programmes, and medical clinics. Her work includes the ‘Talanta Yangu Project’, which helps
individuals with epilepsy develop talents, leading to scholarships, vocational training, and job
placements.
Dotun Akande (Nigeria)
Dotun Akande’s Patrick Speech & Languages Centre offers services for Autism Spectrum
Disorder (ASD) and leads initiatives like the Family Empowerment Outreach. The Centre also
trains special needs therapists, addressing the shortage of qualified professionals in Nigeria and
supporting families in need.
Shamsudeen Abdulrazak (Nigeria)
Shamsudeen Abdulrazak’s Glowing Minds Initiative impacts undergraduates and graduates in
Nigeria through leadership and entrepreneurship training. The Initiative’s programmes help
participants start businesses or secure jobs, with ongoing efforts to ensure sustainability
through volunteer-driven support and a profit-oriented social venture.
Bukar Mohammed (Nigeria)
Bukar Mohammed’s Humanitarian Network for Northern Nigeria empowers women and youth
through skills training, scholarships, and health campaigns. His initiatives have reduced malaria
incidence, supported peace efforts, and promoted youth leadership in peace and security.
Chika Okwuolisa (Nigeria)
Chika Okwuolisa’s Brain and Spine Foundation Africa improves neurological healthcare through
emergency surgeries, rehabilitation, and advocacy. The Foundation’s initiatives, including the
National Brain & Spine Injury Conference, have enhanced patient outcomes and healthcare
access across Nigeria and Africa.
